It's a lovely website aimed really for primary but could be used equally well with KS3 groups.
If you explore the site further it has some simple, but very useful and clearly set out sections on "interesting facts about France" including famous people, Eid, Easter, Bastille day etc.
It also has "interesting facts" about Spain and Italy.
