Below are the key resources that I used with a top set year 9 group based around the film "Kirikou et la sorcière" by Michel Ocelot.
Using the writing frame below, pupils retold the story of Kirikou in the perfect tense. This series of lessons also involved pupils in analysing, evaluating and improving their work.

The background for the animated film was inspired by the French painter Henri Rousseau so this then lead on to some cross curricular work with art.

The Kirikou song - the version I used didn't have the lyrics on it so when they completed the reordering activity from the Kirikou PPT they had to really listen and not rely on the visuals.
Finally, just a slide to show how a whole range of objectives from the different strands of the renewed KS3 Framework can be clustered together and covered in a unit of work or mini project such as this.
